NEWLY UNVEILED PHOTOS FROM A TENSE “TAXI DRIVER” SET
"A still photographer on a movie set is not often greeted with much fanfare. Sometimes, however, this person’s role on a production allows him to capture the heart and soul of the film at hand."

Nostalgic about print!
I want a year subscription to Stack.
"Stack is a unique service that brings together the best independent English language magazines from around the world and delivers them direct to your home......Every Stack delivery is a surprise – you never know what you’re going to get next, but you do know that it will be an excellent independent magazine that you probably wouldn’t otherwise have found."
Font History? or something like that.
"Helvetica is the official typeface of the MTA today, but it was not the typeface specified by Unimark International when it created a new signage system at the end of the 1960s. Why was Helvetica not chosen originally? What was chosen in its place? Why is Helvetica used now, and when did the changeover occur? To answer those questions this essay explores several important histories: of the New York City subway system, transportation signage in the 1960s, Unimark International and, of course, Helvetica."
By the way this story and many more in this blog come via the fantastic Swiss Miss
Ten Things To Learn: Milton Glaser
"3. SOME PEOPLE ARE TOXIC AVOID THEM.This is a subtext of number one. There was in the sixties a man named Fritz Perls who was a gestalt therapist. Gestalt therapy derives from art history, it proposes you must understand the ‘whole’ before you can understand the details."

Print is awesome
Why just do a catalog, when you can print a beautiful publication showcasing your product? Hershel is taking the later approach and bringing forth a new print publication that does that.
"The Journal is a bi-annual collection of seasonal articles, stories, interviews and imagery, all curated by Herschel Supply. The first issue centers around Fall 2013, showcasing the newest collections and their inspirations."

I guess you can call this the lazy post of post. ( ironically most of this links came from post with a bunch on links, if that makes any sense)

20 YEARS OF TRUE ROMANCE
Daze Digital has a great essay on the Tarantino written, Tony Scott classic film True Romance.
"Name-checking True Romance has become shorthand for the message Alabama scrawls on a napkin for Clarence while he's closing the drug deal: “You're so cool!""
