baby life...

Bailey at 8 months.
Mateo at 5 months.
Becoming a father has been quite beautiful, life around babies is always refreshing and magical to say the least. Not only I have a 9 month old hanging out, but also enjoy the company of my niece of 1 year. Thats with out counting 4 others that lived out of town. Cant wait for all of them to be hanging out together.

FSA OWI Photography Circa 1939-1945

Screw those working boots, red suspenders and crew cuts, this are real working class people circa 1939-1945 while it was all about "progress". These people built our present with pride and luckily these pictures were taken in color so we could actually feel some of those emotions. Pretty amazing in a time where B&W was the common variable in photography. These pictures are amazing.

Please visit this page so you can see them in their full quality.

Taken directly from the page:

"Even today, many documentary photographers will tell you they are influenced by the works of the Farm Security Administration in the 1930s and 40s. Under the direction of Roy Emerson Stryker, the FSA sent photographers to document the plight of the rural farmer during the Great Depression and the progress of New Deal programs. When the U.S. entered World War II, the photography program continued under the Office of War Information (OWI).

The best-known FSA photographs are in black and white. Less commonly seen are the color photos by FSA and OWI photographers, shot between 1939 and 1945. Below we present a selection from the works Library of Congress, Prints & Photographs Division, FSA-OWI Collection."

Demetri Martin - If I

A performance by Demetri Martin. This is innovative in my personal opinion (not that i know much about stand-up performances) and inspiring.

FLOOD TEASER from flood movie on Vimeo.

FLOOD is an experimental narrative journey. It begins on the water, on a fleet of hand crafted boats, pieced together from scrap and found materials . On water time twists and bends in mysterious ways. Some people aboard the rafts cannot remember a time before the water. Others are lost in their memories from a previous life on the land. Some remember the boats starting out as a summer project among friends. Others remember fleeing their homes. Still others remember that the way of living they used to know was no longer working, and that something had to give. As the flotilla creeps down the river the past, present, and future stories of the boats and their inhabitants becomes both clearer and more elusive.

I think that the Ronin is creating one of the best tittle credits out there. His work for OFFF NYC and OFFF Lisbon are a great source of inspiration.

Kick That Habit

Swiss director 1989 Peter Liechti's art film finds beauty in unusual noises and metal screeching, steel wires, broken TVs, mini-golf contraptions and spoons.
